It won't fix a flat, but it will pump a flat tire up for a while. But even then, the repair kit never came out, we took the tube to a service station. Getting a tire off and breaking the bead is hard on the side of the road, I have done it with helpful friends. Tire repair kits are IMHO not going to help much. If you don't know what you're doing electrically, a multimeter won't do you much good, may as well save the space or substitute a 12 volt test light. In the FLHTKL, I have them in two bank deposit bags (the kind with a zipper) in the saddlebag. In the shovelhead, I have the kit rolled up in a terry towel in the saddlebag, I took the leather tool bag off the handlebars. Stuff that is in the 2018 that isn't relevant to the shovelhead. Stuff that was/is in the shovelhead kit but not relevant to the 2018. tire gauge (wind some electrical tape on it, it can double as a roll of tape) zip lock baggie with assortment of screws and nuts from 6-32 thru 3/8-16. zip lock baggie with 10 foot roll of 16 gauge automotive wire, assortment of terminals, tube of loctite blue, and a pack of dielectric grease) 3/8 sockets (same sizes as combo wrenches, ratchet, and 3 inch extension) 8 inch Crescent wrench (that opens wide enough for your rear axle nut) The one in the saddlebag of the 2018 FLHTKL today is directly descended from it. My tool kit started in a leather bag on the handlebars of the shovelhead 35 years ago. You are coming across like a judgemental know it all to someone who is doing his best to learn.
